Double Chocolate Nutty Protein Cookies

I have always made conscious decisions day-to-day to get good amounts of protein into mine and Shays meals, especially after a long night. Whey Protein powder has been the way forward recently. It’s a fantastic way of implementing protein into meals
It’s amazingly intermixable with so many things. Protein is said to increased levels of a hormone related to satiety (full satisfied). The protein found in foods is used by every part of the body to develop, grow and function properly!
The Recipe
Ingredients
150g butter/coconut oil
150g medjool dates
1 egg
50g whey protein
100g porridge oats
2 tbsp of cacao powder
Pinch of salt
Toppings – Melted dark chocolate and Chopped up toasted nuts
Directions
Place the butter /coconut oil and medjool dates in food processor. Process for 30 secs. Then add in egg and process for 10 secs. Then pour in the rest of the ingredients and process for 20 secs. Preheat the oven to 170.
Grab a heaped tablespoon on mixture, place onto a baking paper lined tray and repeat with the rest of the mixture. You will need to use two trays
Lightly wet your hands and using your hands gently press down on the cookies so they are flattened. Bake in over for 10 minutes and leave to cool. Once cool, drizzle over the dark chocolate and top with nuts.
They will keep in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
