Salted Honey Tahini Apple Bars

These Salted Honey Tahini Apple Bars are the ultimate salty sweet dessert, and the best way to celebrate bees and the delicious honey they create today on World Bee Day.
These bars feature a creamy cashew tahini layer and crunchy oaty crumble base and topping all sweetened and drizzled with delicious honey specially selected for use in baking.
You have to give these bars a go they taste EVEN better than they look.
The Recipe
Ingredients
Tahini Layer:
150g Raw Cashews – Soaked Overnight or For 8 Hours
2 tbsp Tahini
2 tbsp Coconut Oil
4 tbsp Honey
3 tbsp Milk of Choice
1/4 tsp Salt
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
Topping:
1 Apple Sliced
1 tsp Cinnamon
1 tbsp Honey
Pinch of Salt
1 tsp Coconut Oil
Oat Crust:
150g of Oats
60g of Coconut Oil
30g of Honey
To Drizzle:
1 tbsp honey + a Pinch of Salt
Directions
Place the crust ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until combined
Take a tbsp of the crust mixture and set aside for later, Press the remaining crust mixture into a lined loaf tin and press down with a flat bottomed object such as a glass to flatten into a base
Drain the cashews and blend with the salt, tahini, coconut oil, dark honey, milk & vanilla extract until smooth
Pour the mixture onto the oat base and place in the freezer for 4 hours
Take the bars out of the freezer and leave to defrost for a couple of minutes ready for slicing
While they defrost add a tsp of coconut oil to a pan of medium heat, add in the apple slices, honey, salt and cinnamon and fry for a few minutes until golden brown.
Place the caramelised apples on top of the salted honey bars and slice into squares
Sprinkle the remaining base mixture on top then drizzle with honey and sprinkle over a pinch of salt
